ALIJA nominated me as a candidate for the 2024 Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award.

The Argentine Association of Children’s and Young Adult Literature (ALIJA) has nominated me as a candidate for the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award, one of the most important prizes in children’s and young adult literature.

A total of 245 candidates from 68 countries and regions have been nominated for the 2024 award, including 66 new candidates compared with previous years. The list includes authors and illustrators, as well as storytellers and reading promoters.

Each year, this prestigious prize is awarded in Sweden, after the jury has finished reading thousands of works by candidates from around the world.

The Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award was established in 2002 by the Swedish government to promote every child’s right to great stories. This international award is presented annually to an individual or an organization in recognition of an outstanding contribution to children’s and young adult literature. With a prize purse of five million Swedish kronor, it is the largest award of its kind. It is administered by the Swedish Arts Council.
