This year, the Cuatrogatos Foundation selected its awards and recommendations from among 1,395 works from 18 countries. My book Kala, illustrated by Cecilia Varela and published by Editorial Del Naranjo, was a finalist. Additionally, my novel Erizo, published by AZ, was selected as part of the 100 recommended books.
Among the 20 winning works are picture books, comics, poetry collections, short stories, and novels that are part of the catalogs of publishers from Argentina (Lecturita, Libros Silvestres, Loqueleo, Norma, Periplo Ediciones), Chile (Ediciones Ekaré Sur), Colombia (Tragaluz editores), Spain (Akiara Books, Anaya, bookolia, Ediciones SM, Edelvives, Iglú, Sallybooks, Triqueta Editora), Mexico (Ediciones Castillo, Ediciones El Naranjo, Leetra), and Uruguay (Alfaguara). Five of these publishers had not previously received the Cuatrogatos Foundation Award.
