Last night, the Konex Awards ceremony was a true celebration. I was moved to be face to face with writers I have read and admired so much. And I felt immense joy sharing the moment with friends who were also honored—no less admired for being close.

Thank you to the Konex Foundation for last night. Thank you, dear María Teresa Andruetto—and through you, the entire jury—for taking the time to remember the weight of words.

Thank you to my husband and my son Fran for being there with me. And to the rest of my family and friends who followed the ceremony by streaming and made me feel truly embraced.
